Welcome to the Worthy of Sacrifice Project.
Our goal is to share the stories in words and film of the courageous gays and lesbians who lost their lives in service to this country.
For the gays and lesbians who came home, many chose to come out of closet. Unfortunately those who failed to return never had the opportunity. The stories of their lives were lost, their sacrifice unrecognized in the context of who they were.
The Worthy of Sacrifice Project will share and preserve their stories and their sacrifices, as told by the families, friends and partners they left behind.
In the telling of these stories, we hope to ensure that the brave gays and lesbians who served are never forgotten, and singularly demonstrate their sacrifice is no less worthy because of who they were and who they chose to love.
If you have a story to share, please send it to us.
